MUD,
MUD,
Glorious MUD
Mud was very much in evidence when the Bottesford
Environment and Conservation Volunteers walked
village footpaths in February and March. “We
aim to walk all the paths in the Parish in the next
few months and report back to the authorities any
problems with access or difficulties with stiles etc”
said BECV secretary Barbara Pizzey. With a long
term aim of producing a Footpath Guide to the area
the group is keen to hear from anyone interested in
helping them with this work.
Our Objective is to ensure the network of rights of way within the parish are logged, with any problems reported to the appropriate authorities, both Parish Council and Leicestershire CC. We want to open make these walks more attractive to all in the community whilst at the same time ensuring we respect and protect the land across which we are walking.
The group has now walked all the public rights of way within the parish (some with the LCC footpaths Officer) and is preparing a report for all of the authorities to see.
